Business Writing (POFT 1044) A study of the basic elements of composition. Skill development in comparing paragraphs, expressing clear and correct sentences and using the rules of grammar. Learn how to write clear, concise email, letters, reports and proposals. Textbook required.
Grant Writing (ETWR 1000) Details the components of a typical grant proposal. Includes foundation research, now to effectively write a cover letter, the importance of needs assessments and evaluations. Emphasizes presenting an organization’s problem statement in a clear concise manner.
How to Run, Grow and Stay in Business (Business Start-up) (BUSG 1024) This course includes basing decisions about opening a new business on objective standards, knowing how to finance businesses, and understanding different legal structures from which to choose. Information is an invaluable resource for the entrepreneur and small business owner. In this workshop, important information will be distributed which will help you function on a level necessary to sustain a business. Each stage of a successful business operation will be covered. Participants will leave the workshop with a working business plan and marketing. Participants will alsos receive information in the set-up and operation a small business accounting program, Quickbooks. A small business owner with practical and cost effective tols to start and run a small business conducts this workshop. Each student will be entitiled to a one-hour consultation with the instructor, to be scheduled at the end of the course. |
