   VBN1  Introduction to VB.Net 2005

Special topics in Computer and information sciences, general.(ITSC1091)

Topics address recently identified current events skills, Knowledge and or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student

Prerequisites: Knowledge of windows operating system; some programming knowledge is desirable This 24 hour course will introduce you to Microsoft’s Visual Basic.Net programming language. This major change replaces VB 6.0 and VB.Net 1.0 and is completely object oriented. You will learn the basics of coding and programming, and learn to use the new user interface. You will learn about base classes and the common language run time.

Course Content:

  • The Visual Studio 2.0 graphical user interface
  • Using version 2.0 form and control objects
  • Visual Basic .NET 2.0 syntax
  • Complete object oriented programming
  • Visual Basic.NET windows and web applications
  • New windows controls, events and methods
  • The My namespace
  • Strongly-typed variables
  • Flow control
  • Working with methods
  • Using base class methods
  • Overloading methods
  • Constructor and Destructor methods
  • Using basic controls

 

   VBN2  Intermediate VB.NET 2005

Special topics in Computer and information sciences, general. (ITSC1091)

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge and or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Visual Basic.NET. This 24-hour course expands your knowledge of Visual Basic.NET. The student will learn complex objects such as arrays and structures. He will learn more advanced controls and how to determine their behavior. He will delve into object oriented programming techniques including inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation. The student will learn the new graphics based classes and how to use features required to produce a professional product.

  • String functions using new string related base classes
  • ASCII, ANSI and Unicode
  • New menu and pop up menu controls
  • Standard and common dialog boxes
  • Arrays and Structures
  • Classes and objects
  • Diagnostics, debugging and tracing
  • Exception handling
  • Accessing file data
  • Simple ADO.Net
  • Inheritance
  • Modifiers
  • Graphics
  • Additional VB.NET controls

   VBN3  Advanced VB.NET 2005

Special topics in Computer and information sciences, general. (ITSC1091)

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge and or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Visual Basic.NET. This 24-hour course expands your knowledge of Visual Basic.NET. The student will delve into object oriented programming techniques including inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation. The student will learn the new graphics based classes and how to use build and deployment features required to produce a professional product.
